About Us

Our Story

Welcome to Thatta Ghulamka Dhiroka, fondly known as the “Village of Dolls.” nestled in the Okara District of Punjab, Pakistan. Our village is a living testament to the power of culture, community, and creativity. At the heart of this transformation is Anjuman-e-Falah-e-Aama (AFA), a dedicated non-governmental organization, and the Thatta Kedona project, which has brought global recognition to our handcrafted traditions.

Very beautiful Masha Allah ❣️

With deep sadness we share the news that our dear friend Irene Moser from Switzerland has passed away. She will be laid to rest on 13 March 2026 in Switzerland.

Irene lived in Lahore for many years together with her husband Jack Moser, former Head of Milk Collection at Nestlé Pakistan. During that time she became a kind friend and supporter of our village Thatta Ghulamka Dhiroka and our handicrafts initiative Thatta Kedona.

We will always remember her warm heart and generosity — especially the moments when she visited the village, distributed free textbooks to the children of the local school, and spent time with the women and girls of the community. The photos also show her together with Dr. Senta Siller, who founded the project more than three decades ago.

Today we mourn the loss of a compassionate friend whose kindness touched many lives.
May she rest in peace. 🤍 #womensupportingwomen #women #womenempoweringwomen #womenempowerment #village #handmade #handicrafts #thattakedona #OkaraCity #embroidery #Pakistan #handcrafted #ethnicdolls #dolls
