Welcome to Thatta Ghulamka Dhiroka, fondly known as the “Village of Dolls.” nestled in the Okara District of Punjab, Pakistan. Our village is a living testament to the power of culture, community, and creativity. At the heart of this transformation is Anjuman-e-Falah-e-Aama (AFA), a dedicated non-governmental organization, and the Thatta Kedona project, which has brought global recognition to our handcrafted traditions.

Its nice to be be back for this visit with Norbert. His efforts in putting up the pump house and the museum are commendable. One sees the integration of the project with the village! Once again we encouraged the people to keep the tradition of building with mud alive. It's a great learning - life coming back to the future!
First of all it’s helping women to earn their livelihood besides working for emancipation of women in a rural area. I bought a doll from an exhibition held in Lahore and simply fell in love with their products. Hats off to this organisation. God bless!
Dear Farzana, dear Farouq! It was a great pleasure for me to stay in your village. Thank you! Yours Alexandra Scherer.

CELEBRATING SUPPORT & SOLIDARITY AT BAZAAR BERLIN
This poster brings together some of the wonderful people who made the Thatta Kedona stall at Bazaar Berlin 2025 a true success. At the heart of it all is Dr. Senta Siller, the visionary German artist and anthropologist who initiated the Thatta Kedona handicrafts project in rural Pakistan more than three decades ago.
We were honoured by the visit of Mr. Rumman Ahmad, Commercial Attaché of the Pakistan Embassy in Berlin, and First Secretary Mr. Sarwar Hussain, whose presence brought great encouragement.
Also featured are Mr. Yasin Ghulam, Dr. Norbert Pintsch, and Mrs. Sabine Piltz, who played key roles in organizing and supporting the stall. Special thanks to Mrs. Helga Schmitt-Pritz and Mr. Rainer Schmitt for their generous donation of a beautiful silk-painting collection and materials to Thatta Kedona’s silk-painting workshop.
Thank you to all who continue to support this unique collaboration between Pakistan and Germany — empowering village women through art and craft. #dolls #village #Embroidery #women #womenempoweringwomen #womenempowerment #thattakedona #okaracity #handmade #Handcrafted #handmadewithlove #handicraftproducts #handicrafts ...
