Welcome to Thatta Ghulamka Dhiroka, fondly known as the “Village of Dolls.” nestled in the Okara District of Punjab, Pakistan. Our village is a living testament to the power of culture, community, and creativity. At the heart of this transformation is Anjuman-e-Falah-e-Aama (AFA), a dedicated non-governmental organization, and the Thatta Kedona project, which has brought global recognition to our handcrafted traditions.

Its nice to be be back for this visit with Norbert. His efforts in putting up the pump house and the museum are commendable. One sees the integration of the project with the village! Once again we encouraged the people to keep the tradition of building with mud alive. It's a great learning - life coming back to the future!
First of all it’s helping women to earn their livelihood besides working for emancipation of women in a rural area. I bought a doll from an exhibition held in Lahore and simply fell in love with their products. Hats off to this organisation. God bless!
Dear Farzana, dear Farouq! It was a great pleasure for me to stay in your village. Thank you! Yours Alexandra Scherer.

🌿 A Legacy Carried Forward 🌿
It was a deeply moving moment to witness Dr. Senta Siller and her husband walking hand in hand through the newly established showroom of the Senta Siller Design Center (SSDC). As they moved from one window to the next, admiring the beautiful display of handcrafted pieces, their expressions reflected pride, joy, and quiet fulfillment.
Dr. Senta Siller was visibly touched and satisfied to see that the mission she began decades ago continues to thrive—guided by the same passion, dedication, and spirit of empowerment for rural women.
This one-minute glimpse captures more than just a visit—it captures the continuity of a vision, the strength of a legacy, and the reassurance that her life’s work is in the right hands.
✨ A journey that began with hope… and continues with purpose.

Wonderful!
The Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy in Pakistan, Mr. Arno Kirschhof, recently hosted a luncheon at his residence in Islamabad in honour of the visiting German artist, designer, and social worker Dr. Senta Siller.
On this occasion, Dr. Siller’s husband, Professor Dr. Norbert Pintsch, was also present, along with their Pakistani student Amjad Ali. It was in his village that this German couple initiated, more than three decades ago, a handicrafts and welfare project known as Thatta Kedona.
The German Embassy has shared the following message on its Facebook page regarding this luncheon, paying rich tribute to Dr. Senta Siller in highly appreciative words. #doll #dolls #village #Pakistan #women #sentasiller #thattakedona #Okara #handcrafted #handmade #handicraft #handicrafts #womenempowerment #ethnicdolls ...
